Minerva Audio

A player for the music already on your phone. Headphone correction, a tube-amplifier stage, and the rest of the chain live in the app. One control turns all of it off.

Processing

Upsampling, when you turn it on, runs in the decoder before the list below. Bypass All DSP returns you to the file.

  1. 01

    ReplayGain

Levels a measured track so the next song does not jump.

  2. 02

    Headphone EQ

A correction curve for your model. Curves come from OPRA. The app shows the OPRA mark and names the person who wrote the preset.

  3. 03

    Parametric EQ

Your own bands, kept separate from the headphone curve.

  4. 04

    Bass Boost

Lifts low end that is already in the recording.

  5. 05

    Virtual Bass

Suggests bass that a small driver cannot move. Separate from Bass Boost. Using both can thicken the low end.

  6. 06

    Soft Clip

A gentle ceiling when the chain runs hot.

  7. 07

    Tube Amplifier

A short list of reference amplifiers, shaped against published measurements. Pick one, or leave the stage off.

  8. 08

    Crossfeed

A little of each channel in the other ear, for listening to speaker recordings on headphones.

  9. 09

    HRTF

A binaural image. Head tracking holds it still when you turn, and motion is used only while tracking is on.

  10. 10

    Convolution

Your own impulse response. With the default spatial setting, only one of crossfeed, HRTF, or convolution runs at a time.

  11. 11

    Dither

Last in the chain. While any processing is on, a soft ceiling stays with it.

Library

Minerva Audio plays files you own. Protected Apple Music streams cannot pass through this engine.

On the phone

Your songs stay on the device. Radio is there for stations. ReplayGain uses measurements stored with the library.

From another device

You can send files from a browser on the same Wi-Fi. That transfer stays on the local network.
